The Washington Wild Things will open their 16th season in the Frontier League when they travel to Windy City May 12 for a three-game weekend series against the ThunderBolts.

Washington’s home opener will come the following week when they host Windy City for a three-game series starting May 19 as part of a nine-game homestand.

Washington’s 96-game schedule, which was released Monday, includes 48 home games, nine weekend series and five Wednesday double headers.

The Wild Things, who just missed making the playoffs in 2016, will host defending Frontier League champion Evansville Friday, June 16, for a three-game series in the Otters’ only appearance in Washington next season.

This year’s Frontier League All-Star break is July 10-13, with the game being played in Joliet, Ill., for the first time, and Washington will wrap up its season with three games at Traverse City Sept. 1-3.
