AVON, Ohio – Eric Grabe hit a three-run triple in the first inning and the Lake Erie Crushers went on to defeat the Wild Things, 6-1, Friday night.

Grabe’s hit came off Washington starter Christian Powell (1-1), who gave up four runs in four innings.

The Wild Things’ lone run came in the sixth inning when Andrew Heck tripled and scored on a single by Ricky Rodriguez to make it a 5-1 score. Heck had three of Washington’s seven hits.

The Wild Things have scored only two runs in their last 29 innings.

Winning pitcher Steve Hagen (7-6) allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings.
