Pellegrini accounts for 5 TDs in Charleroi victory
CHARLEROI – Quarterback Geno Pellegirni rushed for four touchdowns and threw a 78-yard scoring pass to Dakota Romantini as Charleroi rolled to a 48-28 victory over visiting Greensburg Central Catholic in a nonconference game Friday night.
Pellegrini scored on runs of five, one, 17 and 49 yards, helping Charleroi improve to 3-2 overall.
The score was tied 14-14 in the third quarter when Pellegini hooked up with Romantini on the long touchdown pass that gave the Cougars the lead for good. Charleroi led 27-14 after three quarters.
Bryce Mihalcin had a 34-yard TD run in the fourth quarter for Charleroi and Errict Tedrow returned an interception 28 yards for the game’s final score.
