College baseball roundup: W&J stays unbeaten in PAC
Derek Helbing and Ryan Sciullo each homered as Washington & Jefferson stayed unbeaten in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference with a 6-2 win Monday over Grove City.
Bryce Schnatterly was the winning pitcher for the Presidents (11-0, 16-3), allowing two runs (one earned) in five innings. Matt Heslin pitched four perfect innings of relief for a save.
Helbing also doubled, scored two runs and drove in a pair.
• John Kletzli had three hits, including a three-run homer with two outs in the top of the ninth, but LaRoche scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to pull out a 4-3 non-conference win over the Yellow Jackets.
David Lemley hit a single to tie the score and Mitchell Yard drove in the winning run for the Red Hawks (19-6). Tre Thomas, Cam Smith and Cole Conley combined to shut Waynesburg (9-15) out over the first eight innings.
Jacob Meyer kept LaRoche scoreless until the seventh.
