Boys basketball roundup: One quarter costly to Wash High
A seven-point second quarter hurt Washington as it lost a non-section game at Seton LaSalle, 54-45, Wednesday night.
The Prexies second-quarter struggles were taken advantage of by Seton LaSalle, which outscored Wash High 15-7 to take control of the game.
Seton LaSalle (3-1) was led by a game-high 25 points by Jakob Richardson. Michael Bigley also had 12 points for the Rebels.
Jordan Swart paced Washington (1-1) with 17 points, while Isaiah Walton finished with 11.
Jefferson-Morgan 61, Beth-Center 46: D.L. Garrett and Jalen Torres combined for 46 points as Jefferson-Morgan defeated Beth-Center 61-46 in a nonsection game.
Garrett, who hit three three-pointers, finished with a game-high 24 points.
Torres had 22 points for the Rockets, who pulled away in the final quarter.
Beth-Center (2-2) was paced by 10 points from Andrew White.
Devin Stoneking also had 12 points for J-M (3-1).
California 68, Yough 43: California bounced back from its first loss of the season to hold visiting Yough to only 12 first-half points en route to an easy 68-43 victory in a nonsectiopn contest.
Ben Wilson scored a game-high 32 points for California (3-1), which led 16-6 after one quarter and 33-12 at halftime. Wilson scored 15 of his points on five three-point field goals.
Yough was paced by Jarrett Bach with 14 points.
In other games: Charleroi forged a 10-point halftime lead and went on to get its first win of the season, 60-43, overvisiting Ringgold in nonsection play. Both teams are 1-3.
