Boys basketball: Charleroi grinds out win at Carmichaels

Dremar Everette scored 16 points and Charleroi climbed to the .500 mark with a 58-40 victory over Carmichaels in a non-section game Wednesday night on the Mikes’ home court.

Charleroi (5-5) trailed 9-6 after eight minutes but took control of the game by outscoring Carmichaels 14-6 in the second quarter and sealed the win with a 24-point outburst in the fourth quarter.

Sam Miceli, who hit the 1,000-point mark for his career Tuesday night, scored 10 points for the Cougars and Ericct Tedrow also tallied 10 points.

Jacob Lowry paced Carmichaels (5-4) with 10 points. The Mikes made 14 of 16 free throws but were held to only 13 field goals.
