Sierra Short and Adrianna Gottheld combined for 26 points Wednesday night to lead a balanced Charleroi attack and the Cougar ran their winning streak to five games with a 42-34 victory over visiting Ringgold in a non-section game.

Short led the way with 14 points as the Cougars improved their overall record to 13-3. Gottheld followed with 12 points and helped Charleroi forge a 21-11 halftime lead. The Cougars made only 11 of 24 free throws but did just enough to hold off Ringgold, which saw its record drop to 8-8.

Ashley Briscoe was the leading scorer for Ringgold with 10 points.

Trinity Christian 50, Waynesburg 18: Rachel Sharp and Emily Sauerborn combined for 37 points as Trinity Christian of Morgantown, W.Va., won at Waynesburg, 50-18.

Sharp scored 19 points and Sauerborn had 18 for the winners. Waynesburg’s record dropped to 1-14.
