The most populated bracket for local teams is Class A softball, where West Greene, Monessen and Carmichaels each qualified for the state tournament.
WPIAl champion West Greene (22-1), which lost in last year’s title game, will begin its run for another state championship appearance when it plays Shanksville-Stoneybrook (17-5) at 3 p.m. at North Allegheny.
