4 Cal football players sign NFL contracts
Former California University football players Jordan Bowman, Garry Brown, Paul Butler and Aaron Terry will be participating in upcoming NFL rookie minicamps.
Bowman, a defensive back, signed with the New York Jets after starting all 33 games over the past three seasons. He was a three-time All-PSAC West selection at defensive back and earned all-region laurels twice.
Brown signed with the Oakland Raiders after being a consensus first team All-American wide receiver as a senior. He was a national finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy as the top player in NCAA Division II and led the country with 26 touchdowns. Brown ranked among the national leaders last fall with 91 receptions for 1,475 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns. The Ohio native shattered the all-time school records with 3,761 receiving yards and 43 receiving touchdowns.
Butler signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers after being an All-PSAC West first team selection as a senior. He finished with 173 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 15 catches last fall.
Terry also signed with the Steelers after starting 34 games during his career. He was a three-time All-PSAC West pick at defensive back. Terry had three interceptions in 2016 and 13 for his career.
