Baldwin tops C-M, ties for section title
Baldwin scored in every inning but the first on the way to a 6-2 victory over Canon-McMillan that created a first-place tie in Section 1 of Class 6-A.
Adeline Tagg hit a two-run home run for Baldwin (10-2, 12-3).
Makenzie Hollie homered and drove in two for the Big Macs (10-2, 10-4). Kayla Hopkins went 3-for-4.
• West Greene finished the regular season with a 19-1 record after downing Bentworth, 12-0 in a five-inning, non-section game. It was the Pioneers’ sixth shutout in the last seven games.
Madison Lampe homered and tripled and McKenna Lampe homered for West Greene. Kaitlyn Rizor tripled and winning pitcher Jade Renner and Linzee Stover each had a double.
Bentworth finished the regular season at 10-10.
• Gabby Pettit doubled and drove in four to propel McGuffey past Trinity, 6-3, in a non-section game.
Emily Hunter had a double and scored twice for the Highlanders (7-11).
Payton Barr homered and singled for Trinity (5-10). Bailey Bell and Cameron Meier each had a double.
• Waynesburg pounded 13 hits in an 14-4 win over Burgettstown in a non-section game.
Rachel Elsenheimer and Tara Staley each had a double, home run and two RBI for the Raiders (9-8). Sidney Hare also homered. Hannah Kelsey and Brooke Meeke each had a double. Staley scored three runs.
Lexi Stratus doubled and scored twice for Burgettstown (4-14).
• Frazier defeated California, 16-0 in a three-inning non-section game. Cal is 5-11 and Frazier is 14-2.
