Wild Things rally to beat Crushers

AVON, Ohio – The Wild Things used an 18-hit attack and took advantage of four Lake Erie errors to rally and beat the Crushers 10-9 Thursday afternoon at Sprenger Healthcare Stadium.
The Wild Things overcame deficits of 5-1 in the second inning and 9-4 in the fourth inning. They took a 10-9 lead with a four-run seventh inning.
The Wild Things won two of three games in the series and will take a 4-2 record into tonight’s (7 p.m.) home opener against the Windy City ThunderBolts at Wild Things Stadium.
Second baseman Jace Conrad went 4-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, a home run and a stolen base to lead the Washington offense. Hector Roa also homered and Rashad Brown had four hits.
The Wild Things trailed 9-6 entering the seventh but took advantage of three Crushers errors in the inning that helped make it 9-9. Kane Sweeney then hit a two-out double that scored Bralin Jackson with the go-ahead run.
Reliever Joe Ravert (1-0) pitched a scoreless sixth inning for the win. Davis Adkins followed with two shutout innings and Zach Strecker pitched the ninth for his first save.
