W&J to open world series against Concordia Chicago

The Washington & Jefferson College baseball team will get an early start to its first appearance in the NCAA Division III World Series.

The Presidents (38-11), who won the Mideast Regional title Monday, will play Concordia Chicago (33-11) Friday in the opening game of the world series at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wis. The game will begin at 11 a.m. Eastern time.

The Presidents have been placed in a bracket with Oswego State (32-9) and Roanoke (33-17). Oswego State was given the No. 1 overall seed in the eight-team tournament.

The tournament runs through May 31. The winner of each double-elimination bracket will meet in a best-of-three game series.
