Davis Jr., Lewis lead Cal to win in PSAC opener
Terry Davis Jr. and Isaiah Lewis combined for 44 points as the California men’s basketball team defeated Kutztown 89-87 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference opener at the Convocation Center Saturday.
Davis Jr. scored a team-high 23 points. He also pulled down nine rebounds and had four assists. Lewis had 21 points.
Cal (1-0, 3-1 overall) shot 66 percent in the second half after trailing 39-27 at halftime.
Kutztown (0-1, 2-1 overall) guard Ethan Ridgeway scored 40 points after going 13-of-26 from the field, connecting on four three-pointers and hitting all 10 of his free throws.
The Vulcans were able to get secondary scoring from Philip Alexander, who had 17 points, and Cordell Smith, who added 12.
