Saint Vincent 77, Wash & Jeff 62:

Tom Kromka scored 18 points and Saint Vincent used a strong final seven minutes to pull away for a 77-62 victory over Washington & Jefferson in a PAC game at Henry Memorial Center.

Saint Vincent (1-1, 4-1) trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half against the upset-minded Presidents (0-1, 1-4).

The Bearcats battled back from a 26-11 deficit to tie the score at 31-31 at halftime. The game was still close with a little more than seven minutes remaining, when W&J’s Sean Stinelli made a free throw that cut Saint Vincent’s lead to 50-49. The Presidents then went cold from the field as they went more than five minutes without a field goal.

A 10-0 Saint Vincent run opened a 60-49 advantage and the Bearcats ended the game on a 27-13 run over the final 7:16.

Kyle Evans scored 15 points and David Stephen had 13. The Bearcats outrebounded W&J 48-26 and had 20 offensive rebounds.

Stinelli had a terrific game for W&J, scoring a game-high 24 points. He made five of nine three-pointers. Brian Lindquist and Nicholas Campalong each contributed 10 points
