Girls soccer roundup: Peters Township blanks Baldwin
Four different players scored for Peters Township as the Indians defeated Baldwin 4-0 in a Section 2-AAAA match Monday night.
Hannah Stuck, Kaila Mcferran, Regan LaVigna and Nicolette Gill scored goals for the Indians.
Goalkeeper Emma Sawich made three saves for Peters Township (5-1, 11-1).
• Lexi Wehrle scored the only goal of the match less than three minutes into the first half as Upper St. Clair defeated Canon-McMillan 1-0 in Section 2-AAAA.
That was all USC (5-4-2) needed as goalkeeper Jill Rocco made 13 saves to secure the shutout.
Canon-McMillan (4-1-1, 6-3-2) goalie Ashley Barzd stopped 12 of 13 shots.
• Angelina King scored two first-half goals and Trinity held off host Oakland Catholic 2-1 in a Section 3-AAA match.
Trinity, with goalkeeper Sarah Kuhns, held Oakland Catholic (4-5, 4-7) scoreless in the second half to move above the .500 mark at 5-4-1 overall and 3-4-1 in section. The Hillers have won four in a row.
• Bentworth received goals from six different players and routed winless Geibel Catholic 12-1 in Section 2-A.
Paige Marshslek and Jocelyn Timlin led the Bentworth attack, each scoring four goals. Lindsay Davis, Caroline Rice, Caitlon Arton and Shayla Rokicki each added one score for the Bearcats, who are 6-1-1 in section and 7-3-1 overall.
• Host Montour scored two second-half goals and surprised South Fayette 3-0 in Section 4-AAA.
Montour improved to 6-3 in the section, 7-4 overall and moved ahead of South Fayette (6-3-1, 7-3-3) in the standings.
• Emma Hoffman had a hat trick and Mofoluke Obiri scored two goals as Section 2-A leader Seton-La Salle blanked visiting Chartiers-Houston 5-0.
Seton-La Salle is 7-1 in section, 9-2 overall and has won nine in a row. C-H is 2-5-1 and 3-9-1.
