Waynesburg shut out after coaching change
WAYNESBURG – Shawn Broadway rushed for 190 yards and four touchdowns as Derry improved its playoff chances with a 47-0 victory over Waynesburg in the Class AAA Interstate Conference Friday night.
The game was the first for Waynesburg since Russ Moore resigned last Saturday as the Raiders’ head coach. Chad Coss ran the team on an interim basis.
Broadway, who carried only 10 times, scored on runs of 59, 36 and 65 yards as Derry (5-1, 8-1) had 376 rushing yards. Colton Nemchek had TD runs of 25 and seven yards as the Trojans won their seventh in a row.
Waynesburg (1-6, 1-7) was held to 174 total yards. Dylan Scritchfield rushed for 54 yards on 13 carries, and he completed 14 of 22 passes for 94 yards.
