McGuffey rolls over Chartiers-Houston

CLAYSVILLE – Christian Clutter scored three touchdowns to help McGuffey rout Chartiers-Houston, 68-6, in a nonconference game Friday night.

Clutter returned a punt 15 yards, and broke off runs of 15 and 80 yards for the Highlanders (6-3). Connor Romestan and Adam Townsend each scored twice.

Tyler Bard caught a 10-yard TD pass from Matt Whitfield for the only score for the Bucs (0-9). Whitfield threw for 74 and rushed for 44 yards.

Matt Mounts was 3-for-4 for 58 yards and a TD. Clutter rushed for 104 yards on 4 carries and Townsend 64 on 5. Romestan had 41 on 7 tries.

McGuffey, which still has playoff hopes in the Class AAA Interstate Conference, has a key game next weekend at Derry.
