Carmichaels overcomes first-half deficit, wins at Mapletown
MAPLETOWN – Mapletown jumped out to an 8-0 lead and led late in the first half before Carmichaels scored 31 unanswered points to defeat the host Maples 31-8 Friday night in a Tri-County South Conference game.
Charles Lowry ran for two touchdowns for the Mikes, and Nick Mundell rushed for 115 yards and another score.
Dylan Rush of Mapletown (1-3, 2-4) ran for a 31-yard touchdown to give the Maples the early lead. The senior had 113 yards on 26 carries.
Lowry ran for a 19-yard score late in the first half and added another Carmichaels (4-0, 4-1) score early in the third quarter with a 12-yard run. Mundell then ran for a 3-yard touchdown in the third quarter and Joey Minor capped off the scoring with a 23-yard run late in the game.
Carmichaels’ Chad Ruse and Dylan Wilson each intercepted a pass in the second half. Wilson also caught four passes for 54 yards.
