Bailey Parshall threw a five-inning perfect game, Sophia Godzak drove in five runs and Belle Vernon crushed visiting West Mifflin 12-0 in Section 2-AAAA Monday afternoon.

Parshall struck out six and needed only 49 pitches (40 strikes) to record the no-hitter.

Godzak was 2-for-2 with a double, Ally Pacak had a two-run double as Belle Vernon scored seven runs over the first two innings and added five more in the fourth. Kourtney Gavatorta was 2-for-3 and scored three times for the Leopards, who improved to 5-2 in section and 8-2 overall.

West Mifflin is 4-4 in section and 7-5 overall. The Titans have been outscored 17-0 in two games against Belle Vernon.

• Maddi Ewart doubled twice and drove in two runs to lead Carmichaels to a 10-0 victory over Beth-Center in a non-section game that lasted five innings.

Emily Menhart had a single and double and scored twice and Gina Ranieri tripled and drove in two runs for the Mikes (7-4). Megan Walker also tripled. Kylie Sinn struck out 12 and did not walk a batter.

Beth-Center fell to 1-7.

• A 5-run second and 7-run fourth helped Southmoreland to a 15-2 victory over Waynesburg in a 5-inning Section 3-AAA game.

Beth Bunner and Faith Miller each hit a double and drove in 2 runs for the Scotties (4-2, 4-3). Emily Eutsey, Maegan Shetterley and winning pitcher Jessice Matheny also doubled.

Sydney Hare doubled and drove in a run for Waynesburg (4-2, 6-4).

• Trinity cracked three home runs during a 10-6 victory over McKeesport in a Section 2 game in Class 5A.

Cameron Meier had a double and 2-run home run for the Hillers (5-3, 8-5). Winning pitcher Kylie Poland had a solo home run and Bailey Bell hit a 2-run blast. Bayleight McCullough went 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.

McKeesport fell to 1-5 and 1-6.

• McGuffey pounded out 29 hits, outslugging Brownsville, 25-13 in a Section 3-AAA game.

The two teams combined for 38 runs, 47 hits and eight errors.

Ashley Blackhurst went 5-for-6 and drove in 7 runs, Megan Gray went 5-for-5 and scored 5 times and Ellie Serna went 5-for-7 with 3 RBI for the Highlanders (3-3, 3-3). Kaitlyn Muncy went 4-for-6 with 4 RBI and Shelby Dobrzynski was 3-for-6 with 4 RBI. Zoey Maze was 3-for-6 with 3 RBI. Rachel Shingle and Brin Hunter each had a double.

Aubri Hogsett hit a grand slam for the Falcons (1-5, 3-7).

• Maddie Blaker tossed a three-hit shutout, Macee Chesney went 4-for-4 and Mapletown used a five-run fifth to defeat visiting Jefferson-Morgan 10-0 in a five-inning Section 2-A game.

The win evens Mapletown’s section record at 3-3.

Blaker struck out 10 and walked four. She protected a slim lead into the fifth, when Mapletown (5-3 overall) broke the game open, the big hit being a three-run double by Chesney. Sara Chory and Elisa Clark each contributed a double for the Maples

Jefferson-Morgan slipped to 1-5 in section and 2-5 overall.

• Section 3-AAA leader South Park remained undefeated in league play with a 12-0 victory over host Charleroi in five innings.

Winning pitcher Jessica Dean had a two-hit shutout and struck out 11. She helped her cause with a double.

Kaitlyn Morris led the Eagles (6-0, 6-1) at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double. Julie Shiavski also doubled.

Charleroi is 0-6, 0-7.

• West Greene had 30 hits in sweeping a Section 2-A doubleheader against visiting California, 13-1 and 15-0.

In Game 1, Pioneers’ power-hitting shortstop Madison Renner launched a three-run home run to begin the scoring in the first inning.

West Greene starting pitcher Jade Renner had a perfect game entering the fifth and final inning before Ashley Gush hit a solo homer, the only hit California (1-6, 1-7) would have in both contests.

In Game 2, Madison Lampe, Linzee Stover and Kaitlyn Rizor each had a pair of hits as the Pioneers scored 15 runs in four innings to end the game.

Rizor led West Greene (6-0, 9-2) by going 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Madison Renner earned the perfect-game victory in the circle and struck out six.

• After squandering a four-run lead, Bethel Park scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Canon-McMillan 10-9 in the first game of a doubleheader in Class 6A Section 1.

In the second game, Canon-McMillan was leading 6-0 after six innings when the game was suspended because of darkness.

Canon-McMillan led 4-0 after three innings in the opener but Bethel Park led 8-4 after a five-run fifth. The Big Macs regained the lead at 9-8 after six.

Erica Haught had four hits for C-M, Katelyn Greaves homered and drove in three, and Carrera Sutherland doubled.
