Jackson’s big game leads West Greene to first win

ELLSWORTH — Ben Jackson rushed for 227 yards and four touchdowns as West Greene pulled away in the second half to defeat Bentworth 41-6 in the Tri-County South Conference opener.

West Greene (1-0, 1-1) used TD runs of 52 and four yards by Jackson in the first quarter to forge a 14-0 lead. Bentworth made it 14-6 late in the first quarter when Shawn Dziak threw a 23-yard TD pass to Dylan Farkas.

West Greene then scored the game’s final 27 points, all before the fourth quarter. Jackson, who carried 21 times, scored on runs of 23 and 30 yards, Kolin Walker had a 12-yard TD run and Corey Wise rambled 23 yards for the game’s final score.

Dziak completed 16 of 32 passes for 129 yards and one touchdown. He was intercepted twice.
