Wild Things fall to River City

The Washington Wild Things blew a five-run lead over the final seven innings and fell, 7-6, to Windy City Saturday night in a Frontier League game.
Washington built an early 5-0 lead in the third but River City would score three in the bottom of the third, one in the fourth and three more in the sixth.
Paul Kronenfeld and Mike Jurgella hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning, Kronenfeld a two-run blast and Jurgella a solo shot, to make it 7-5. Zach Lavy hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the third to start the comeback.
Hector Roa’s two-run single highlighted a three-run first inning for Washington. Roman Collins scored on an error and Kyle Pollock made it home on Reydel Medina’s sacrifice fly in the third.
Pollock drove in Carl McEachern with a single in the seventh and finished the game going 3-for-5.
Washington starter Taylor Bloom and reliever David Adkins each gave up three runs. Adkins took the loss.
