The 2018 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, will make its annual journey to Southwest Pennsylvania June 16, celebrating Father’s Day American motocross style from legendary High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris.

The Red Bull High Point National will signify the 42nd consecutive year in which the fastest riders invade the Keystone State and one of the most storied motocross tracks.

Since 1972, the most talented riders have laid it all on the line for a shot at victory in what is arguably the most physically and mentally demanding championship in all of motorsports.

This season’s 46th running of the championship will center around the title defense of Eli Tomac, who became the 24th different 450 Class Champion in history last season. After years on the verge of being the sport’s next big star, Tomac is the biggest name in motocross and will carry the weight of the highly coveted No. 1 plate throug the 2018 season.

Tomac’s title defense will face a stiff challenge from an international contingent of riders, which include Frenchman Marvin Musquin, German Ken Roczen, and California’s Blake Baggett. Each of these riders is poised to unseat Tomac’s position atop the sport.

This summer-long battle will take a field made up of the world’s best riders across the U.S., visiting 11 different states over the course of 12 weekends from May to August.

While baseball has long been considered America’s pastime, the sport of motocross and its 46 years of thrilling fans throughout the country also is a beloved summer tradition. A total of 40 riders will do battle on some of America’s most hallowed grounds in racing, each with the same common goal – winning.

High Point offers incredible spectator viewing, weaving in and out of a natural valley.

The riders must charge up and down the climbs and descents but also tackle High Point’s signature technical challenge: sloping, off-camber corners. All that elevation change makes this track tough to master but also leads to some amazing racing.

High Point has been on this circuit since the early days, and fans have been treated to legendary battles through the years.

Driving to High Point provides a distinctly old-school feel, with a narrow, twisting country road suddenly dissipating into a beautiful motocross track and massive pits and campground.

The track has evolved, too, with new, modern jumps built right in front of the spectator sections. A series of facelifts have left the track with a newer look but have retained the old-school High Point feel.
