Nick Wegmann’s stay on the Wild Things’ roster was a short one.

Wegmann, a left-handed relief pitcher, was selected Wednesday in the 34th round of the First-Year Player Draft by the Seattle Mariners. Wegmann (0-0, 5.40) signed with Washington May 29 after concluding his collegiate career at Binghamton University. He pitched in four games with the Wild Things, including Tuesday night when he faced three batters in a 10-9 victory over Traverse City.

Wegmann, from Appalachin, N.Y., had a 3-7 record and 3.71 ERA as a starting pitcher for Binghamton this spring and was 9-13 in his career.

It is the second consecutive year a Wild Things left-handed pitcher was draft eligible and selected. Hunter Williams was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 11th round last year.
