There have been several good baseball pitchers in the area in recent years, but none has been good in as many big games as Canon-McMillan’s Zach Rohaley. The senior right-hander pitched the Big Macs to the WPIAL Class 6A championship and PIAA finals this year. Entering the Big Macs’ state championship contest against Bensalem, Rohaley had won five postseason games and had a 13-1 record, was 20-1 over the last two seasons, 27-5 over three years and had seven career playoff victories. Rohaley threw a four-hitter in C-M’s 2-1 win over North Allegheny in the WPIAL title game. In the sixth inning, he gave up a leadoff triple, then struck out NA’s 3-4-5 hitters to keep the Big Macs in the lead. “He proved it again. That’s Zach Rohaley his whole life. He has done that every single time. In big spots, he gets better,” said C-M coach Tim Bruzdewicz.
