Girls Golf MVP – Taylor Waller

It wasn’t the most successful year for local girls golfers, but that speaks more for the increasing quality and depth throughout the WPIAL than it does about the talent in the area. Taylor Waller of Canon-McMillan has developed into one of the best female players in the area, even if she doesn’t always play against girls. Waller also played on the Big Macs’ boys team because C-M doesn’t have a girls team. When she plays against the girls, Waller does very well. She placed second at the Section 2-AAA qualifier, shooting 79 at hilly and demanding Southpointe Golf Club. At the WPIAL Championships held at Diamond Run Golf Club in Sewickley, Waller had a round of 83, which was good for eighth place, making her an alternate for the PIAA Championships.
