Pirates drop slugfest to Orioles
Tim Beckham had two hits, including his first home run, and drove in three runs, and Colby Rasmus homered for the Baltimore Orioles in a 10-8 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates in a spring training game Friday in Sarasota, Fla.
Adam Frazier, hitless in his first eight at-bats of the spring, had three hits, including a triple and double, and three RBI for Pittsburgh. Orioles No. 2 starter Dylan Bundy gave up five runs and seven hits in 2 1/3 innings.
Pittsburgh starter Tyler Glasnow gave up a leadoff home run to Colby Rasmus in the second inning but retired six of the final seven batters he faced. Glasnow struck out six and did not issue a walk in three innings.
The Pirates scored four runs in the second inning as Colin Moran and Jose Osuna singled and Jacob Stallings was hit by a pitch. Frazier then cleared the bases with a triple. Starling Marte’s double scored Frazier and gave the Pirates a 4-1 lead.
