Wild Things fall to Otters
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A 15-hit attack propelled the Evansville Otters to a 8-5 victory over the Washington Wild Things in a Frontier League game Saturday evening. Both teams are 1-1.
Travis Harrison was a triple short of hitting for the cycle, but he did drive in three runs and scored twice for Evansville. Jeff Gardner went 3-for-4, scored a run and knocked in 3 runs. Zach Welz scored three times.
Patrick McGruff pitched six shutout innings, walking two and striking out three in getting his first win of the season.
Leadoff hitter James Harris hit a home run and drove in four runs for the Wild Things, who rallied for 2 runs in the top of the ninth.
