JOLIET, Ill. – Four Joliet pitchers combined on a four-hitter to defeat Washington 2-1 Tuesday night, snapping the Wild Things’ four-game winning streak.

Joliet scored two runs in the second inning and that was enough support for Slammers starter Scot Hoffman (3-1) and three relievers. Hoffman allowed one run and struck out eight over seven innings. Keegan Long got the final three outs, all via strikeout, for his first save.

Washington loaded the bases with two outs in the eighth inning but did not score.

The Slammers took a 2-0 lead when Dom Iero hit a two-out run-scoring double and London Lindley drew a bases-loaded walk.

Washington closed to 2-1 in the fourth when James Harris scored on a sacrifice fly by Roman Collins.

Washington starter Chase Cunningham (0-2) gave up six hits and four walks over six innings.
