Winner plays: Either Washington or New Brighton in the quarterfinals.

Who to watch: Steel Valley has a pair of running backs who have already eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the season. Todd Hill, a commit to Howard University, has amassed 1,228 yards on 93 carries (13.2 per touch) and 23 touchdowns. Hill is an outstanding linebacker on defense. Kam Williams is the the leading rusher with 1,318 yards. He also leads the team in receptions (16). For Beth-Center, senior quarterback Bailey Lincoski continues to do it on the ground and through the air. For the second consecutive season, Lincoski has surpassed 1,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing.

Noteworthy: Steel Valley made a strong case for moving ahead of undefeated Burgettstown for the second seed in Class AA. After losing to top-seeded Shady Side Academy in Week 3, the Ironmen won six straight games and outscored those opponents 296-44. … Beth-Center must protect the ball to win. In 10 games, the Bulldogs have lost 14 fumbles and thrown five interceptions. … In the last four years, each of Steel Valley’s three losses came against teams that were undefeated at the time – twice to South Fayette in 2015, Washington in 2017 and Shady Side Academy this year.
