Makenna Marisa is one of the top players in the WPIAL. She is a Penn State recruit.

Peters Township High School girls basketball player Makenna Marisa committed to Penn State University Friday night, announcing the decision on Twitter.

Marisa, a senior guard, averaged 23 points and nine rebounds per game her junior season, leading Peters Township to the WPIAL Class 6A championship game. She also had three steals and assists per game.

Marisa also had offers from Pitt, Baylor, Nebraska, Michigan, Boston College, UCF, Duquesne, Ball State, Villanova, St. Joseph’s, Cincinnati and others.

She was a first-team selection on the 2017-18 Sports Writers Pennsylvania All-State girls team and was named first-team all-district by the Observer-Reporter.

Marisa is on the ESPN 2019 HoopGurlz Basketball Prospects as one of the top recruits in the country.
