Cal stops Clarion, stays unbeaten in PSAC West
CLARION — Noah Mitchell threw for three touchdowns and Nelson Brown and Nick Grissom each scored one Saturday afternoon to help California University down Clarion 41-27 in a PSAC West Division game.
Cal moved to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference. Clarion fell to 4-2 overall, 2-1 in the conference.
Brown, who rushed for 88 yards on 19 carries, caught a TD pass and ran one in for the Vulcans, who led 41-13 before Clarion rallied in the fourth quarter.
Grissom scored on a one-yard run and Brian Alsobrooks kicked two field goals in the second half.
Cal’s defense produced three turnovers and the Vulcans did not have any turnovers. Mylique McGriff rushed for 137 yards and scored two scores for Clarion.
