Howell throws 3 TD passes in Monessen win

MAPLETOWN — Dawayne Howell completed nine of 14 passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns as Monessen cruised to a 42-0 victory over Mapletown in the Tri-County South Conference.

Howell threw TD passes of 45 yards to Devin Whitlock, 20 yards to Darnell Howell and 33 yards to Antwon Tucker.

Vaughn Taylor rushed for 100 yards and two scores on only six carries for Monessen (5-1, 6-1), which led 30-0 after the first quarter. Taylor had TD runs of four and 68 yards.

Monessen had 369 total yards and held Mapletown to 11 total yards and one first down.
