Cavanaugh carries Bentworth to win at Jefferson-Morgan

JEFFERSON — Trent Cavanaugh rushed for 166 yards and scored twice to help Bentworth rally for a 29-7 victory over Jefferson-Morgan in a Class A Tri-County South Conference game Friday night at Parker Field.

Cavanaugh scored on runs of 7 and 4 yards and threw a 13-yard TD pass to Bruce Hook for the Bearcats (4-3, 5-5). Owen Petrisek rushed for 69 yards on 16 carries, scored on a 3-yard run and caught a 2-point conversion pass. Trevor Richardson added a 35-yard field goal to close out the scoring.

Justin Maddich gave Jefferson-Morgan (2-5, 2-8) a 7-0 first-quarter lead when he caught a 25-yard pass from Jacob Broadwater.
