Big first half sends Laurel past California
CALIFORNIA — Laurel forged a 23-point halftime lead and cruised to a 37-14 victory over host California in a nonconference game.
Laurel (2-2) led 16-0 after one quarter and 23-0 at halftime.
California (1-3) did all of its scoring in the third quarter as Malik Ramsey and Jaeden Zuzak caught TD passes from Austin Grillo. Ramsey’s catch went for 55 yards and the scorign toss to Zuzak covered 22 yards. Grillo was 10 of 15 for 190 yards.
Jelani Stafford led the Cal ground game with 29 yards on eight carries.
