Cameron Meier hit a three-run homer with two outs in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday to give Trinity a wild 10-9 victory over West Allegheny in Class 5A Section 3 softball.

Trinity (7-1, 10-2), which leads the section by two games in the loss column over Montour, had to battle back against West Allegheny. The Hillers fell behind 7-3 after four innings but scored two runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to tie the game at 7-7, the tying run coming on a homer by Bailey Bell.

West Allegheny (6-3, 6-5) then scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to take a 9-7 lead and was able to retire the first two Trinity batters in the top of the seventh. Down to its final out, Trinity caught a break when an error extended the inning. The Hillers took advantage of the good fortune as Alyssa Rager singled to bring Meier to the plate.

Meier, who was hitless on the day to that point, homered to center field on a 3-1 pitch.

Bell went 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs to lead Trinity at the plate. Marlaina Bozek drove in two runs and Emma Morgan scored twice.
