Brownsville tops Bentworth on last-play TD

ELLWSORTH — JaVaughn Love caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from Hunter Assad as time expired to give Brownsville a 33-27 victory over Bentworth in a Week Zero game.

Love and Assad opened the scoring with a 37-yard connection. 

Trent Cavanaugh, who had 101 yards on six carries; Shawn Dziak; and Dylan Farkas each scored to give Bentworth a 20-7 halftime lead. Owen Petrisek caught a 60-yard pass from Dziak for Bentworth’s only score in the second half.
