Softball MVP – Kaitlyn Rizor
For three seasons, Kaitlyn Rizor was comfortable and productive on the right side of West Greene’s defensive alignment as the second baseman. She was a key player in three WPIAL championships and two state titles. This spring, however, Rizor was asked to slide over to the key position of shortstop. She made the transition flawlessly as the senior was involved in more double plays (6) than she had errors (2). Rizor also continued her stellar play at the plate and on the basepaths. She batted .494 with 35 runs, 13 doubles, six triples and two home runs. She also was 7-for-7 on stolen base attempts and her steady play both at the plate and in the field helped West Greene win its fourth consecutive WPIAL Class A championship and post a 21-5 overall record. Rizor will play softball next season at West Virginia Wesleyan.
