Girls Diving MVP – Anna Vogt
Anna Vogt’s sport involves ups, downs, twists and turns. The Ringgold High School senior, however, was as steady as a diver could possibly be this season as she went straight to the top of the leaderboard in the postseason and stayed there to the end. Vogt repeated as the WPIAL Class AA diving champion and won her first PIAA championship, easily beating her competition and winning her second district title at South Park High School. Her 436.05 point total outdistanced second-place Alexa Gonczi of Connellsville (378.25) and Kristen Jerich of Knoch (340.20). At the PIAA Championships that were held at Bucknell University, Vogt was again spectacular and consistent. She led after the first round, semifinal round and the finals to win her first state title. Vogt finished with 421.10 points in the 11-dive competition, nearly 40 points ahead of Camp Hill Trinity’s Erica Kenski. Vogt will continue her diving and careers at Clarion University this fall.
