High school baseball roundup: Carmichaels past Jefferson-Morgan

Logan Mayhle allowed only one hit over four shutout innings and Stush Ferek went 3-for-3 with four RBI as Carmichaels defeated visiting Jefferson-Morgan 15-0 in a four-inning nonsection game Friday afternoon.

Carmichaels (2-0) scored five runs in the first inning and seven more in the second.

The Mikes’ Gavin Pratt was 2-for-3 with two doubles, Dylan Wilson was 2-for-3 and scored three runs, and Matthew Barrish hit a double.

Mayhle struck out five and did not walk a batter. A single by Devin Stoneking was the only hit for J-M (0-2).

• Derek Timko tripled and drove in four runs to help Brownsville to an 8-7 victory over Charleroi in a non-section game. Charleroi pitching walked two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

D.J. Zimcosky had a double for the Falcons (3-0). Charleroi fell to 2-1.
