Kaylie Anderson and Savannah Adams hit back-to-back, run-scoring doubles in the fifth inning for the Bearcats (4-6, 8-9), who took a big step to secure the fourth and final playoff berth in the section.

Canon-McMillan 10, Baldwin 4: Taylor Eckles homered and drove in three runs to help Canon-McMillan down Baldwin, 10-4, in a Section 1 game in Class 6A.
Elli Kotar homered and knocked in two runs for the Big Macs (9-3, 10-4). Abby Allen had a double among her three hits and scored three runs. Elka Mowery went 2-for-4 and scored a run.
Cassandra Carlson went 4-for-4 with two doubles for Baldwin (9-3, 10-3).
Jefferson-Morgan 3, Mapletown 0: Cait Dugan struck out 10 and did not allow a run in Jefferson-Morgan’s 3-0 victory over Mapletown in Section 2-A.
Kyra Smitley drove in two runs for Jefferson-Morgan (7-2, 8-4). Jasmine Demaske added a double.
Kailey Stover doubled for Mapletown (4-3, 8-3).
Chartiers-Houston 9, Beth-Center 0: Ella Brookman allowed three hits and struck out six to help Chartiers-Houston to a 9-0 win over Beth-Center in a Section 3-AA game.
Kaci Alderson and Lauren Lober each drove in two runs for Chartiers-Houston (9-1, 13-3). Kasey Scears, Karlyn Bayer, Brookman and Lober each hit a double.
B-C fell to 0-11 and 1-11.
Baseball
Avella 14, Mapletown 9: Kenneth Rush and Isiah Work each drove in three run to help Avella rally to beat Mapletown, 14-9, in a Class 2-A game.
Ty Jaworoski went 4-for-5 with a double, two RBI and three runs for the Eagles (4-5, 5-7). Blaze Allen went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
Chuckie Lash tripled and drove in two runs for Mapletown (0-8, 0-11), which led 9-6 after four innings. Zach Rockwell had two RBI.
California 6, Jefferson-Morgan 1: Jacob Piktel cracked a three-run double in a four-run third inning to pace California to a 6-1 win over Jefferson-Morgan inn a Section 2-A game.
Nate Zemany also doubled for California (9-0, 11-1). Payton Conte struck out six.
Kyle Clayton drove in the only run for Jefferson-Morgan (4-4, 4-8).
