Elizabeth Forward 14, Belle Vernon 12: Elizabeth Forward erupted for eight runs in the fifth inning to come away with a 14-12 victory over Belle Vernon in a Section 3 game in Class 4A.
Patrick Minda went 4-for-4 with a double, three runs and four RBI for EF (8-6, 11-7). Nate Holma doubled, tripled and drove in three runs and Chase Vaughn went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBI.
Andrew Sokol, Josh Hooffman and Cole Naylor each drove in two runs for BV (8-6, 10-7).
Mapletown 11, Geibel 1: An 11-run first inning provided Mapletown with all the runs needed in an 11-1 victory over Geibel in Section 2-A
Noah Haines had a double and three RBI for Mapletown (2-10, 2-13). Vince Walick had a double and two RBI and Dalton Engelhardt a double. Lance Stevenson had two hits, two runs and two RBI and Clint Menear stole three bases.
Geibel fell to 0-12 and 0-13.
McGuffey 21, Washington 2: Seth Burgdolt doubled, drove in two and scored four times to push McGuffey to a 21-2 win over Washington in a five-inning Section 3-AAA game.
Brock Wallace and Ryan Sullivan each had three RBI for McGuffey (9-3, 10-5). Brayden Kay, Logan Sibert and Chad Fleischauer each knocked in two runs and Jake Orr scored four times.
Washington fell to 3-14, 1-11 in the section.

SOFTBALL
Albert Gallatin 17, Waynesburg 6: Albert Gallatin pounded four home runs in a 17-6 victory over Waynesburg in a non-section game.
Maddie Flowers homered twice and drove in five runs for Albert Gallatin (9-6, 10-7). Marie Sutton homered, doubled and brought home five runs. And Rylea Hlatkay homered and drove in two runs.
Paige Rutan doubled and knocked in a run for Waynesburg (5-8, 9-10). Jordan Sibert, Selena Phillips and Kaylee Turcheck each had an RBI.
West Greene 7, Bentworth 2: In the final tuneup before another playoff run, West Greene stopped Bentworth, 7-2, in a non-section game.
Mackenzie Carpenter doubled and drove in two run for West Greene (16-4). Winning pitcher Jade Renner struck out five over the final 4 2/3 innings.
Renner, McKenna Lampe, Kaitlyn Rizor and Jersey Wise each had two hits for West Greene.
Leah Lindley struck out five for the Bearcats (5-7, 9-11).
