Early uprising sends Wild Things to victory
Wander Franco hit a home run, drove in two runs and scored four times to help the Washington Wild Things knock off the Gateway Grizzlies, 10-5, in a Frontier League game Friday night.
Washington had 13 hits and the top four hitters in the lineup went a combined 10-for-19, with 6 RBI and eight runs. Hector Roa hit two doubles and went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run.
Washington scored four times in the first inning and put the game away with two runs in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh.
Andrew Daniel went four-for-four with a home run and two RBI. Teammate Luke Lowery also homered for Gateway.
