Hockey MVP: Alex Wilbert, Peters Township

Over the last four years, Alex Wilbert has been a maintay for Peters Township during its deep runs into the postseason.
A senior goaltender, Wilbert was a big reason why Peters Township made it into the PIHL Class 3A Penguins Cup semifinals this season before the postseason was delayed and eventually canceled. Wilbert finished the regular season with a 10-3 record with a classification-leading 2.01 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage and was in a three-way tie for the lead in shutouts with two.
In the postseason, Peters Township scored three first-period goals and then rode its defense, led by Wilbert, to a 3-2 victory over Erie Cathedral Prep in the quarterfinals and the last game played by the Indians.
Wilbert has played key roles in the postseason for four years. As a freshman, he backstopped the Indians to the Class 3A Penguins Cup and Pennsylvania Cup titles and played in Penguins Cup title games as a sophomore and junior.
This season, Wilbert won seven of his final eight starts and played in the PIHL all-star game.
