Michael Dunn and Nelson Grayson went a combined 6-for-6 from the free throw line in the final minute of play to seal a 55-50 victory over Mt. Lebanon in a non-section game.
Dunn scored 11 of his game-high 28 points in the second quarter, when Triinity outscored Mt. Lebanon, 21-10, to take a 28-22 lead at halftime. Trinity stretched that lead 43-33 after three quarters.
Jake Renke scored 23 points and Mike Pfueffer added 12 points for Mt. Lebanon (3-3), ranked 4th in Class 6A.
Dunn had 12 rebounds to go with his 28 points for the Hillers (4-2).
Chartiers-Houston 52, Bentworth 42:
Three players scored in double figures to power Chartiers-Houston to a 52-42 victory over Bentworth in a non-section game.
Ahlijeh Vaden scored 15 points, Austin Arnold 11 and Jake Mele 10 for C-H (2-7). which led 26-22 at halftime.
Jerzey Timlin scored 17 points for Bentworth (1-4). Landon Urcho added 12 points.
Girls Result
Mapletown 49, Jefferson-Morgan 16:
It was a career night for Krista Wilson. The 5-8 sophomore forward scored 23 points, grabbed 23 rebounds and had three blocks — all career highs — in Mapletown’s 49-16 rout of Jefferson-Morgan in Section 2-A.
Taylor Dusenberry scored 13 points and had six steals, and Morgan Williamson had 9 points and seven assists.
Savannah Clark scored 5 points for Jefferson-Morgan (1-4, 1-7).
California 61, Avella 49:
Makayla Boda and Kendelle Weston combined for 40 points and helped California to oa 61-49 victory over Avella in a non-section game.
Boda led the way with 22 points and Weston followed with 18 points for Cal (3-0), which took control of the game with a 25-8 spurt in the third quarter.
Katie Dryer paced Avella (2-2) with 15 points. Cassie Maidment added 10 points.
