Waynesburg scores 40 unanswered, wins at Bentworth

ELLSWORTH — Breydon Woods rushed for 275 yards on 21 carries and scored four touchdowns as Waynesburg defeated host Bentworth 64-20 in a nonconference game Friday night.

Waynesburg (1-1) fell behind 13-12 in the first quarter, then won the game by scoring 40 unanswered points.

Woods scored on runs of 55, 11, 48 and four yards.

Daniel Huffman returned an interception 35 yards for a TD and ran 27 yards for a score for Waynesburg, which rushed for 336 yards. The Raiders’ Jacob Stephenson ran for one touchdown and threw scoring passes of 15 yards to Nate Jones and 11 yards to Nate Kirby. Jones also returned a kickoff 75 yards for a TD.

Seth Adams ran for a score and passed for another for Bentworth (0-1).
