Under the spotlight at Mount Lebanon High School’s gymnasium, history was made Wednesday as Trinity wrestled its first girls dual match.

Eight bouts were contested, with girls from seventh to 12th grade, and Mt. Lebanon edged the Hillers, 5-3

The match started with two pins for Lebo followed by a fall by Trinity’s Nila Bland. The teams went back in forth the next four matches with Mount Lebanon picking up two wins and Trinity picking up two wins. Mt. lebanon won the final bout.

Trinity coach Grant Lowther said, “This was a great battle to start the season off with. It was exceptionally rewarding to see how hard both teams wrestled tonight and the improvements they have made from day 1. I look forward to our rematch at Trinity in January. I am proud of every girl who stepped out there under the spotlight tonight to wrestle from both teams.”
