Myers big game pushes C-H past California

Lucas Myers scored a game-high 28 points and Chartiers-Houston dropped California, 62-32, Saturday at the Chuck Mahoney Classic.

Jonathen O’Riley chipped in with 12 points for the Bucs (4-7).

Aidan Lowden’s 13 points led California (3-7).

Fort Cherry 74, Avella 35: A fast start and dominating finish gave Fort Cherrya 74-35 victory Saturday at the Chuck Mahoney Classic.

Fort Cherry jumped to a 24-10lead after one quarter and capped the fourth with a 20-8 advantage.

Dylan Rogers scored 19 points, Owen Norman 15 and Derek Errett 11 for the Rangers.

Brandon Samol scored 21 points for Avella.

Girls results

A strong third quarter propelled Canon-McMillan to a 50-45 victory over South Park Satuurday ina non-section game.

The Big Macs trailed by one at halftime but a 14-9 edge in the third quarter would be enough for the win.

For Canon-McMillan (4-5), Stellanie Loutsion scored 20 points and Kelsey Wandera added 14.

South Park (7-2), which had won six in a row, was paced by Maddie Graham’s 13 points and Maya Wertelet’s 11.

Trinity 89, Ringgold 19:

Five players scored in double figures to lead Trinity to an 89-19 victory Saturday in a Class 5A, Section 3 game.

Eden Williamson led the way for the Hillers (4-0, 8-1) with 20 points. Maddy Roberts scored 17, Macie Justice 15, Alyssa Clutter 12, and Kristina Bozek 11.

Kirra Girard led Ringgold (1-1, 4-4) with 10 points.

OLSH 67, Washington 10: Our Lady of Sacrd Heart defeated Washington 67-10 Saturday at the Chuck Mahoney Classic.

OLSH Moved to 5-4 and Washington fell to 1-8.

Fort Cherry 67, Avella 36: Raney Staub had a game-high 22 points and Ava Menzies scored 11 for Fort Cherry in a 67-36 win at the Chuckie Mahoney Classic at Burgettstown.

Katie Dryer led Avella (4-4) with 14 points.

Fort Cherry raised its record to 7-3.

Peters Township 57, Bishop Canevin 48:Three players scored in double figures to lead Peters Township to a 57-48 victory Saturday in a non-section game.

Journey Thompson led the trio with 18 points, Gemma Walker contributed 13 points and Avana Sayles had 12 for Peters Township (6-5).

Ashley Little led BC with 16 points.
