Andrew Massucci was a jack of all trades at Peters Township, competing in three sports. However, he was the ace of the school’s soccer team.

As a junior, he was the WPIAL Player of the Year with 19 goals for the Indians, who their section and lost in double overtime, 4-3, to Seneca Valley in the district championship match.

The Raiders again proved to be Massucci’s and PT’s nemesis. Seneca Valley dispatched the Indians in both the WPIAL finals, 3-1, and the PIAA semifinals, 2-1. Massucci scored both goals in the losses. In fact, the tallies were just two of the nine goals Seneca Valley allowed this season.

“Andrew is a tremendous competitor. One of our hardest workers,” said PT head coach Bobby Dyer. “He’s scored some big-time goals.”

During the regular season, Massucci scored 17 times.

For the second time in two years, he also garnered all-state accolades to go along with all-section and all-WPIAL honors. This year, he gained all-region distinction.

Massucci earned recognition as the kicker on the football team. He helped the Indians reach the WPIAL semifinals last fall and the district championship game in 2020.

Massucci also helped the PT hockey club win the Penguins Cup with a 6-2 win over Franklin Regional in the PIHL final as well as its sixth state championship with a 5-4 win over Malvern Prep in the Class 3A title game played March 26 at the Ice Line Arena in West Chester.

Massucci will continue his athletic career at John Carroll.
