Girls Soccer MVP – CeCe Scott, Peters Township
It comes as no surprise that Duquesne women’s soccer coach Al Alvine predicts big things for CeCe Scott.
Alvine says the Peters Township defender is comfortable playing anywhere across the back line.
“That versatility, combined with her athleticism and ability, makes her someone that has the potential to fill a number of roles,” Alvine said. “CeCe’s ability to read the game and play effectively out the back are two qualities that will allow her to to be a stand-out player at the college level.”
Scott was a standout on the scholastic level as she led Peters Township to the WPIAL Class 4A semifinals, only to fall to Moon, 1-0, in a shootout.
An all-state performer, Scott earned all-WPIAL laurels three times and all-action acclaim four years in a row. She also was a three-time Big 5/6 all-conference selection.
A two-year captain, Scott totaled 29 goals and 29 assists during her career.
Scott guided the Indians to three section titles, three WPIAL semifinal showings and one PIAA Final Four appearance.
The Venetia resident was a member of the USYSA regional semifinalist team. She helped her Beadling Soccer Club Girls Academy team to two PA West USYSA state cup championships and a Great Lakes Conference regional league title.
She has served in advisory capacities for the Girls Academy League, the Mid-America Conference and as a representative for Beadling from 2019-22.
Outside of soccer, Scott has been a highest academic honor roll student, a scholarship winner and National Honor Society Member.
