Gallagher resigns as Mikes’ coach
Ron Gallagher resigned Thursday after three seasons as Carmichaels High School’s head football coach. His resignation was accepted by the Carmichaels Area School Board at its monthly meeting.
Under Gallagher, Carmichaels had an 20-9 overall record and advanced to the WPIAL Class A playoffs in each of the last two seasons. The Mikes were 16-5 in Tri-County South Conference play under Gallagher.
This past season, Carmichaels went 7-4 and lost to Laurel in the first round of the playoffs.
The school board also voted to hire Tom Ricco as athletic director. He replaces longtime AD John Krajnak, who retired.
